Cookbooks Etcetera

Welcome to Cookbooks EtCetera!
...where good friends and good cookbooks meet.

Welcome to CookbooksEtCetera.com.

We started out as a cookbook collectors group at onelist/egroups/yahoo in July 1999.

Did you know there is a group of us scattered all over the world and we love our cookbooks enough that we want to discuss them with others who have the same interest?

Most of our members "read cookbooks like novels," have bookshelves filled with them, stacks of them in every room of their house, sometimes have to sneak new ones into the house, and still can't get enough of them? We buy them at book stores, garage sales, ebay, and from each other. We have cookbook swaps about four times a year but usually cannot part with one of our own and go out and buy a new one for the swap.

We're a hopeless bunch it seems when it comes to cookbooks. We can never turn down a new one (or an old one for that matter), and never have enough. Since forming a group at yahoogroups called CookbooksEtCetera (what else?!), we have grown to a current size of 155 members. We've managed to have regional gatherings, mini-conventions, and "major conventions" in Portland, Oregon; DeWitt, Iowa; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Los Angeles, CA and had a 10th Anniversary Birthday Bash in Kansas City, MO in October 2009.

This web site is just a fun site where you should be able to find resources, recipes, cookbook recommendations, favorite web sites...all the usual components of a web site. But if you're interested in joining our group at CookbooksEtCetera, you are welcome to do so. If you love your cookbooks and have lots of them or even just a few, please join us at CookbooksEtCetera and then watch YOUR collection grow also. It seems that if one of us finds a cookbook of interest and mentions it, many of the others want or need it too.

We are a fun, friendly and caring group of cookbook collectors and if you are too, you'll fit right in!

Happy Cookbooking!
